Course Description
Let's explore. What do we know about God, and how can we be sure? There seems to be so many different religions and sects, each with their own views. Avoiding dogma, we will use all of our tools: faith and reason, mind and heart. We will look at big questions. What is our concept of God, the nature of humankind and how we are guided by God? What is the true nature of those He has sent to us? Each Faith reveres its own distinct Great One. Can they be reconciled? Do we have free will or is everything predetermined? Why do things in the grand scheme work the way they do? Are we just pawns in a great battle between good and evil or is there more to it? Can we determine the real truth? We will investigate all these issues and along the journey we will learn about some world religions and the source of religious truth. This class will help us see the world in a new, brilliant, and hopeful light.
