Community Education classes MIGHT be cancelled due to inclement weather. Decisions will be made by Boise School District leadership regarding evening activities, including Community Ed classes. Course Description

Backyard Chickens: know where your food comes from! CHICK season is upon us! Whether you want to keep chickens as a hobby or to become more sustainable in your own backyard, this class is for you! This fast-paced, information-packed class (complete with fabulous chicken photos) will get you on your way to being a successful chicken keeper. You will even laugh-while-you-learn! Even long-time chicken keepers learn new tips in this class! Get the whole family involved in this venture.
Learn the tips and tricks of saving money, becoming more sustainable, and experiencing food security while raising chickens-which provide fresh eggs year-round. Also included in this workshop is a section on bio-security: how to keep backyard chickens safe from Avian Influenza.
Optional Materials Fee is for a copy of instructor Gretchen Anderson’s book, The Backyard Chicken Fight: A Beginner's Guide to Henkeeping.
